Hundred Cedis to be paid by In-Service Teachers

LICENSING FEE TO BE PAID BY IN-SERVICE TEACHERS

Preparing Teachers for quality education in Ghana requires policies and practices which make teaching an attractive profession. This can only happen if the teaching profession is governed by policies that raise the profile and status of teachers to attract the highest calibre of candidates. The demands of education for the 21 Century Ghana, requires a teacher that is adequately prepared, motivated and working under conducive conditions to be able to assure quality education

Pursuant to the above and in the light of the concluded negotiation between the Teacher Unions and Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, GES and Ministry of Finance, and subsequent to the approval of one thousand two hundred Ghana cedis (GHC 1200) professional allowance for every professional teacher, and six hundred Ghana cedis (GHC 600) for every (non-professional teacher as continuous professional development support allowance by the Ministry of Education, effective this year (2020),

The National Teaching Council (NTC), following a meeting with the Pre-tertiary Education Unions and relevant bodies, has decided that in service teachers would pay a hundred Ghana cedis (GHC 100) each.

for the licensure, meant to license in-service teachers across the country.

Be informed that the said one hundred Ghana cedi (GHC100) would be deducted from the one thousand two hundred Ghana cedis (GHC 1,200) professional allowance, at source, while the licence would be renewable, every three years
