UNCIF to support government

UNICEF-Ghana is working to support the government.
Many children across the world are out of school because of the COVID’19 but they are being supported to continue learning even though it comes with challenges, as it stands now, these are not normal times and therefore, alternate actions need to be taken. A good education is one of the most valuable resources we (teachers) can provide for children to become effective agents of change in this social crisis.
Coronavirus could help redefine our educational system as it led us (students and teachers) into temporary ‘halt’ situation. However, COVID 19 has become a catalyst for educational institutions to look for more innovative solutions in a relative short period of time.
UNICEF-Ghana and the Department for International Development (DFID) are working to support government of Ghana to coordinate continuous learning and online education for students who are out of school due to coronavirus pandemic.
The rapid spread of the Coronavirus disease has demonstrated the importance of building a resilience stamina to face various threats, the pandemic is also an opportunity to remind ourselves of the skills student and teachers need such as informed decision making, creativity, problem solving and above all adaptability. These skills will remain a priority for all students and stakeholders.
