"PRESS RELEASE COMPULSORY USE OF FACE MASKS IN THE VOLTA REGION
By (DR. ARCHIBALD YAO LETSA) HON. REGIONAL MINISTER/VOLTA
REPUBLIC OF GHANA




Reference the precautionary directives issued by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to all Ghanaians on the use of face masks in the conduct of their daily businesses in a bid to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) hereby directs that

It is compulsory for all persons seeking to conduct meetings, appointments and engagements at the VRCC Office, Residency and Promises to wear face masks

All Municipal and District Assemblies in the Volta Region should immediately enact appropriate by-laws to see to the enforcement of His Excellency the President's directive on the following:

• All staff, public officers and agents of Municipal and District Assemblies should wear face masks in the conduct of their official businesses.

• Wearing of face masks by all commercial drivers and their passengers

Every member of the public transacting any business with any security agency should wear face mask.

Furthermore, all Assemblies are entreated to intensify education on the wearing of face masks, the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers and social distancing in their respective jurisdictions.

Finally, notices of "NO FACE MASKS NO ENTRY" should be visibly displayed at vantage points at all public and commercial entities including shops, malls, super markets, pharmacies, salon and barbering shops, butchers and meat sellers markets, lorry stations among others, All Food Vendors who offer for sale food or beverages etc must also wear face masks.
